Tec Deep Instructor
For experienced technical divers ready to start teaching, this is the single most efficient route in, bringing Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50 instructor ratings together into one structured programme instead of three separate crossovers. An intensive three-day classroom and pool event covers theory and standards for each level, before moving into open water to practise briefing and supervising staged decompression procedures.

About This Course
The Tec Deep Instructor course, Diving Academy's Technical Instructor Development Course, is built for experienced technical divers ready to make the leap into teaching. Rather than treating Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50 as three separate instructor programmes, this course brings all three ratings together into a single, structured pathway, so you graduate qualified to teach the full progression of decompression diving.
The programme opens with an intensive three-day classroom and pool event, where you work through the theory, teaching methodology and standards behind each level, alongside confined water skill demonstrations and evaluations. From there, training moves into open water, where you put that teaching knowledge into practice on real dives, refining how you brief, supervise and evaluate students working through staged decompression procedures.
It is delivered by Diving Academy's technical teaching team, drawing on genuine day-to-day experience running tec programmes in Reading.

Step 1
Combined Instructor Standards
Rather than working through Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50 Instructor training as three separate programmes, you cover the combined standards and teaching requirements for the whole recreational-to-technical instructor pathway in one structured course.
Step 2
Certification Across the Pathway
Once your teaching is evaluated and signed off, you come away with instructor ratings across the pathway in a single certification, rather than building it up rating by rating over separate courses.
