About This Course

The AWARE Specialist course is PADI's introduction to ocean conservation, built around Project AWARE's mission to protect the underwater world one diver at a time. It is entirely knowledge-based, with no open water dives required, which means it is open to certified divers, complete beginners and anyone who simply cares about the sea.

Across a single flexible session you will explore the environmental pressures facing oceans today, from struggling fisheries and vulnerable coral reefs to the wider health of coastal and open-water ecosystems. This course runs as a single classroom-based session, supported by PADI eLearning, connecting everyday choices - what you buy, how you travel, what you throw away - to the health of oceans, reefs and freshwater habitats worldwide. There is no minimum age and no diving background needed, so it works just as well for a non-diver as it does for a lifelong scuba enthusiast. You leave with concrete actions you can actually put into practice, not just facts to file away.
